This urban forest equity plan (UFEP) was developed to educate the community and stakeholders of Holyoke on the importance of maintaining the urban forest and stewarding equitable resources throughout the community to ensure that all members of Holyoke have access to the immense benefits of the urban forest. This UFEP also narrates the industrial history of Holyoke to further support the message of importance of the urban forest for the City.
The original vision of this UFEP was also to present the document bilingually to reach the large Puerto Rican community of Holyoke. Though this draft does not reflect the bilingual presentation, we worked to incorporate the community engagement quotes and photos to reach the Puerto Rican community in the all-English version.
